“See You Again” Effects on Emotions of Fast and the Furious Fans

The song See You Again was made in honor of the late Paul Walker and was played as a tribute to him at the end of Furious 7. Walker passed away during the filming process of the movie, which forced the franchise to rely on his brothers to finish filming. The song begins as Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and Dom Torreto (Vin Diesel) meet at a stop sign when Dom leaves the final scene. The two drive two opposing cars, a supra and a charger, a staple in the movie between them. It ends as the two meet at a fork in the road and go their separate ways.

There is a lot of congruity found in the song. Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth do a great job mixing sad or tragic lyrics with release musical patterns. The song has become a staple for funerals and things of that nature because it is not explicit like most rap/hip-hop songs and truly brings up memories of those lost when listening to it. Even though it is more of a sad-release type of song, it is still one of my favorites because of its meaning.

A lot of movies have made songs popular or are associated with them. Are there any movie songs that hit your emotions like See You Again? Are there any other rhetorical themes that you can find in the song?
