Societal Institutions

In order to comprehend the dynamics of power, class conflicts, and economic interactions in society, Marxist theory is essential. It incorporates a variety of environments, including as political, economic, and cultural aspects, all of which support a wide critique of capitalism and the social structures it creates. By examining these situations, one can understand how Marxism aims to provide an angle for assessing and comprehending societal institutions.

It is impossible to overestimate the significance of perspective because it essentially influences people's experiences, beliefs, and perceptions of the world. Individual differences in perspective are caused by a variety of factors, including educational experiences, cultural background, and socioeconomic situation. People's perceptions of their position within social institutions and their interactions with others are influenced by this diversity of viewpoints, which frequently results in different interpretations of common experiences.

We are able to understand the consequences that perspectives have for society norms, decision-making procedures, and the resulting outcomes in diverse contexts by looking at how perspectives interact with Marxist Theory. The 2018 film "Sorry to Bother You" is a well-known illustration of one viewpoint; it critically analyzes labor relations and the commodification of workers. The story centers on a telemarketer who learns how crucial it is to speak with a "white voice" in order to thrive in a business that is segregated by race. Marx's concept of alienation; where workers distance themselves from their identity and labor in the name of profit; is reflected in this metaphor. By showing a world where economic disparities result in ridiculous situations, the movie parodies capitalism while emphasizing the difficulties encountered by the working class and the structural factors that support these disparities.

Can you name a different movie or television show that applies to marxist theory?

  1. I would have to another marxist movie is The Help showing the women of the town of Mississippi work with the children of white women. Who only seem to have time for parties and other social events. The accommodating style of " i don't have to watch my children to keep my social status" is to have black women raise their children. Which in turn alienates these women as they dont matter and have a lower status then the women who they have hired are invisible. Thus never given the chance to be at the same level as the women they are involved with. Never noticing these human beings who have helped them be able to do everything they wanted, but inequality remains the alienation of who these human beings are.
