The wild robot
The Wild robot is a phenomenon about the effects of who raised you and the environment your placed in. The wild robot is the best story of how programing can change. Meaning one of two things, one being that the programing of this machine changed due to the tiny gosling that this robot took care of. Second, the programing of humans that our programing can change to help those who can’t help themselves. Then let’s look at how to change our programing just like this robot did throughout the movie.
Who we are as people is selfish and focusing on what we want instead of looking towards others because we were too worried about the directive of, I need to be the best out of everyone. That is where the fox comes in as the one who states the obvious that this robot doesn't need to be a part of this gosling’s life to leave it alone and give it to him. Though this seems tempting at first she doesn’t give into what he says she changes because of her own definition of motherhood.
When the goose sees this weird goose who didn’t grow up with them, they tease and make fun of it because it’s the runt. Though she knew he was a runt her love didn’t change for him because he was small. She made sure to take care of this little goose until he was big enough to leave the nest. Though it wasn’t the same as any other normal geese it was the best she could do with the steps she was given by others. Though lost in the process wondering what she needed to do which her finding others like her.
Robots that had the first directive that wasn’t changed by a baby the robot she found didn’t agree with what was happening to her. The robot then gives her a beacon to call home to fulfill the directive that they all had from the beginning instead of the change she brought upon herself. I enjoy how her programed had changed that it was different from those around her. Things had changed because of her kindness and taking care of others opened her up to take care of the forest creatures in a particularly harsh winter. She took in every animal to help them survive. Though many of them were predators of each other they had to learn that winter to survive together to live in harmony until spring. The robot changed all these creatures including the fox to trust each other. They also changed after this event to help one another instead of to prey upon each other. Learning that they were stronger together then they were apart.
How can we change our programing to become something more? How does our attitude effect those around us?
